STRIPPING naked a Dangamvura teenager (17) over a $3 dispute earned a resident two months behind bars.
Admire Mwenje Kaisa (19) pleaded guilty to indecent assault as defined in Section 67 of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act, Chapter 9:23.
He stripped the teenager claiming she had stolen his friend’s $3.
Mrs Sekai Chiundura presided over the matter, while Mr Fletcher Karombe prosecuted.
The court heard that on February 18, at around 4am at Beta Shopping Centre, Admire approached the teenager who was asleep at Tops Night Club.
“He started to harass her and later removed her T-shirt, pair of trousers and panties all in the name of searching for his friend’s stolen $3. The teenager managed to run away leaving Kaisa with her clothes. She had to seek shelter at House 522B, Area C, Dangamvura where she was given clothes to wear by Andrew Saunyama,” said Mr Karombe.
Kaisa pleaded for leniency saying he was drunk when he committed the offence.
Mrs Chiundura however said a stiffer sentence was appropriate since Kaisa had acted waywardly.
“If you can not behave after consuming alcohol, it is best for you to quit drinking,” she said.
He was sentenced to four months imprisonment, two suspended on condition of good behaviour.
