GIRLS High School coach Abraham Rwodzi feels the competition set for this weekend will be a good starting point in selecting a strong squad for the Zimbabwe Women’s Sevens Rugby tournament. The friendly matches are scheduled for Saturday at Royal College with over nine girls sides taking part. “Rugby will only develop if we engage the girls in many matches, it is very important and I am glad that we are going to have these matches,” said Rwodzi.
“There is a lot of potential in the players.

“Girls High train on Tuesdays and Thursdays and the team is looking good.
“I believe it will not be an easy task, beating teams like Vainona and Royal, in the Schools League we did well and I am very proud of them.”
The Zimbabwe Rugby Union Sevens organisers are yet to set the date for the tournament.

“We do not know the exact date for the Sevens, but we are busy preparing and other schools are also doing the same,” said Rwodzi.
