As the Harare girls’ provincial champions winded up their preparations yesterday, ready to depart for the resort town of Victoria Falls, captain Chipo Rusike was oozing with confidence. “Our goalkeeper Bridget Shamu has been outstanding, making saves that could make veterans turn green with envy and she did not concede a single goal.
“The same can be said of the defence that was watertight and their concentration was brilliant,” added Rusike. Rutendo Magora, Evelyn Madiro, Offence Kachigambanga and Lavelyn Masango, are the defenders entrusted to give cover to inspirational goalkeeper Shamu during the national finals. Glen View 1 High strikers’ conversation rate has been excellent from the zonal, district and provincial finals.
