Global Afro-house pioneer Shimza heads to Zimbabwe

South African award-winning Afro-house DJ, producer and global music pioneer Shimza, born Kholofelo Ashley Raphala, is set to bring his celebrated sound to Zimbabwe after being announced as the first major act on the line-up for the 263 Culture Fest.

The festival is scheduled for October 17 in Harare, where Shimza will headline an increasingly anticipated celebration of music, culture and entertainment.

The DJ and producer has built an international reputation for championing Afro-house, taking the genre from local dancefloors to audiences around the world. His inclusion adds an international dimension to a festival that seeks to celebrate African creativity while creating a platform for diverse musical sounds.

Festival organisers made the announcement on social media, teasing fans with the promise of an energetic set from the renowned selector.

Shimza’s announcement marks the beginning of the festival’s artiste rollout, with organisers expected to reveal more performers in the coming days.
