Correctional 21-22 Glow Petroleum

It has been a top-of-the-table Rainbow Netball League thriller at Chikurubi as defending champions Correctional Queens hosted perennial rivals Glow Petroleum Queens.

The first half was tight, with every contact and obstruction made to count on the scoreboard.

Correctional Queens banked on experience as former Gems captain Felisitus Kwangwa marshalled the defence, with former national players Tafadzwa Mawango , Edna Nyamhazha, Queen Sigauke and Kuda Muchengi controlling the goings on while youngsters Thandazile Ndhlovu and Faith Mutero provided legs.

Glow went for pace instead.

Ursula Ndlovu bossed the shooting ring while Prudence Mpofu cut through at wing attack as the shooters converted under pressure on the edge of the circle.

Both goal attacks struggled to find space, forced wide by tight man-on-man and had to rely on a quick give-and-go ball.

By half-time, the visitors edged it, leading 22-21 in a match balanced on a knife-edge, with the second centre pass set to decide momentum.
