THE Grain Marketing Board (GMB) has reviewed the producer prices for the 2022-23 summer cropping season.

In a statement, GMB chief executive officer, Mr Rockie Mutenha said the new prices take effect today.

“Government has reviewed the producer prices for the 2022-23 summer crops as follows: maize: from $75 000 to $100 000 per metric tonne; traditional grains from $75 000 to $100 000 per metric tonne; soya beans: from $171 495 to $228 660 per metric tonne and sunflower: from $205 794 to $274 392 per metric tonne. The additional US$ component of the payment remains unchanged at US$90 per metric tonne,” said Mr Mutenha.

GMB is encouraging farmers to immediately deliver their crops to the nearest depot or collection point.

Mr Mutenha urged farmers who have not opened Nostro accounts to do so to enable them to receive the US$ component of the payment.
