A PLUMTREE woman was left paralysed after a suspected goblin attack at her workplace.

Qinisani Nyoni (27) employed as a domestic worker at her uncleas house said the attack which occurred on September 8 left her dumb for a week and paralysed for two weeks.

Nyoni who spoke with difficulty still could not move on her own and relied on her husbandA Thulani Dube and other relatives to get her around the house.

When disaster struck, she was carrying out her duties and suddenly a mysterious person who walked through a closed window attacked her at around 1pm.

It was not the first time seeing this strange character. When she reported to her uncle he dismissed her pleas.

a?I was in my bedroom at my uncleas house where I work and I saw a strange man enter through a closed window. He stared at me and I tried to scream but I failed. I could not make out his face properly as it was dark and he was wearing a black coat.

a?He advanced towards me and started strangling me. I tried to fight back but I was powerless. He pushed me onto the bed and continued strangling me until I passed out,a? she said.

When she woke up hours later she was lying on the kitchen floor in a pool of water.

Her husband and a friend stood close by but she could not speak to them or move her body.

Her husband, Thulani Dube said when he arrivedA he found his wife lying unconscious on the bed.

She later started wriggling around uncontrollably like a demon possessed person.A Dube said this escapade lasted for about three hours.

a?I found her lying still on the bed but she had a pulse. She remained that way for about an hour and then started wriggling around unstoppably. She also started fighting with a person that we could not see but she was doing all this when unconscious.

a?She attempted to flee from the house but we locked the door and then she started banging her head against the door. I took a bucket of water and poured its contents on her to calm her down,a? he said.

He called for a prophet from the Power Apostles Church in Zion who came to her aid.

Prophet Friday Mpofu prayed for Nyoni and on the following morning she started writing down details of what had transpired but could not talk or move her body.

He said the symptoms she had were that of a person who had been attacked by goblins.

a?I have been treating her since the day she was attacked and she is making good progress. I managed to drive out the evil spirit that had taken over her body. She is lucky because some people end up dead, paralysed or insane because of goblin attacks.

a?These attacks are common and we treat them on a regular basis. Her condition does not require medical treatment but spiritual intervention,a? he said.

A medical practitioner in Plumtree who requested anonymity, however, said Ms Nyonias condition could have been caused by damage in the nervous system or she could have suffered stroke which caused her paralysis.

He said there was a need for her to seek medical assistance for a proper diagnosis.
