HUBBY from hell!

A Bulawayo man is at the centre of a grisly domestic abuse storm, following sensational revelations by his wife that he allegedly stabbed her twice on the neck and was also in the habit of forcibly pulling her belly button with a pair of pliers each time they had a domestic dispute.

Precious Nyathi said before she decided to move out of the matrimonial home, after her husband Bongani Mahlangu, employed by Zesa, had subjected her to a string of vicious beatings with electric cords.

Nyathi who claimed that she was now living in fear of her husband narrated his awful abuse at the Bulawayo Civil Court where she was seeking a protection order against him.

She said she was no longer interested in the relationship as she was afraid that Mahlangu would kill her adding that she wanted to make sure that justice was served through a court order which bars Mahlangu from physically harassing and threatening her.

a?I have been married to Bongani Mahlangu since 2009 before I moved out of the house on 10 September 2016 because of his violent behaviour. He had been abusing me since 2007 and the recent incident being sometime in April when he stabbed me twice on the left side of the neck and I sustained serious injuries as a result of the attack.

a?He also uses electrical cords to assault me and sometimes uses pliers to pull my belly button. I have since left the matrimonial house and indicated to him that I am no longer interested in the relationship,a? said a teary Nyathi.

Although, in response, Mahlangu did not dispute his wifeas allegations, he claimed that the abuse accusations the wife was levelling against him were committed in the a?pasta?.

a?Your Worship she is talking of past experiences. I never assaulted her and I am bitter that she left home saying she was going to pay rentals and from that day I never saw her until today (Friday),a? he said.

In his ruling the magistrate Sheunesu Matova, however, ordered Mahlangu not to physically assault his wife or threaten her in any way.
