Godlwayo South Soccer League rewards teams, players

GODLWAYO South Soccer League (GSSL) teams as well as players were presented with their prizes for the 2018 season at an awards ceremony held at Avoca Cultural Centre in Filabusi last Thursday.

Mbembesi, the GSSL champions got R3 250, runners-up Dekezi pocketed R2 350, third place Bambanani picked up R1 700 while Silalatshani had R1 100 finding its way to their coffers. For teams in position five to nine, they got R650 each while R450 was given to those on 10th to 13th places.

Dumoenkosini Ndlovu

In the individual accolades, Dumoenkosini Ndlovu of Mbembesi and Thabiso Zondo of Dekezi shared the Player of the Year award, Brian Gandiyaro got the Goalkeeper of the Year award, Roberto Ndlovu of Bambanani took the Young Player of the Year award, Nkosilathi Tshili of Mbembesi, who found the target 24 times walked away with the Top Goal Scorer accolade, Fidelis Mudzingwa of Mbembesi won the Coach Year while the Referee of the Year was taken by Freeman Moyo. All individual awards came with a R200 cash reward.

GSSL sponsors, Kossam Mavuma Ndlovu, Zibusiso Majankwe Ncube and Bhekimpilo Marana Sithole who call themselves MMM provided the prize money handed out on Thursday which totalled R15 000.

Mbembesi won the GSSL for the second season in a row, with Dekezi second, the same position they finished in last year. — @Mdawini_29
