Bulawayo Social Soccer League resumes preps for 2019

THE Bulawayo Social Soccer League will start preparing for the upcoming 2019 season by hosting a number of preparatory games across the city from the end of January.

Action in this league will roar into life beginning on 27 January where teams will rub shoulders to test their combinations among other issues.

In total 44 teams that is 22 from Pool A and a similar number from Pool B will begin the oiling of their engines by taking part in these friendly games.

According to the schedule sent out by the BSSL fixtures secretary, in order to cut costs during the preliminary stages teams would be divided into groups each consisting of three to four teams, then clash in a round robin tournament format.

In Group One to be stationed at Khami Maximum Prison, Haydon, Glenkara and Inmates will lock horns. At Sotshangane Ground, Wolves, Makwe, Tigers plus Lobels will clash under group two while group three at Matshobana Ground will host Matshobana FC, Shwelele, Pioneer and Real Shwelele.

In Group Four that will be housed at Bango Ground in Mpopoma, Mthala, Mayihlome, Congo plus Skippers will also lock horns during these pre-season games.

Group Five will see Iminyela, West Comm, Pata Pata and Pelandaba weighing each other’s strengths from Ndola Ground.

The other groups are made up of FC Bombers, Funda, FC Zonke, Man U who will meet at Esiporweni Entumbane Ground, Zulu Chiefs, Magwegwe, Bullets and Vule Vale at Marisha Ground.

In Group Eight all Cowdray Park teams that is Finance, 94 Strivers, Cowdray Park Masters and Fireworks will do battle from TM Ground.

Nkulumane, 70 Combination, Siyabangena and Zinwa are in Group Nine where they meet at Phekiwe Ground in Nkulumane 12.

Isilwane Ground in Pumula North, Crackers, Old Timers and Santos do their thing (Group 10) leaving Cream Tata, Wembley, Pirates then Brotherhood, Mabuthweni and Kadudu in Group 11 and 12 from Lobengula and Desert Ground in Njube respectively.

Somhlolo Ground will be hosting Group 13 made up of Edgars, Sekusile and Celtics.

By the end of all these games it is expected that the BSSL executive and clubs would then meet and decide on the appropriate date for the league to resume.
