Gogo Murindagomo laid to rest

Bishop Chad Gandiya presided over the burial at the church and cemetery where the late Rev Murindagomo is also buried.

Mrs Murindagomo succumbed to complications resulting from a stroke she suffered in 2004.
Family spokesperson and son of the late Mrs Murindagomo, Mr Mark Murindagomo, said she was a great woman of many accomplishments chief among them being her role as a mother.

“She was a caring and nurturing mother and grandmother who loved abundantly. She not only helped her relatives but anyone who needed her.

“She taught us all how to love and give to those who needed. She was a symbol of unity to the entire family,” he said.

Bishop Gandiya described her as a hard working woman who remained a rallying point in the Anglican diocese even after the death of her husband.

“Mrs Murindagomo served the diocese of Mashonaland covering Harare and Manicaland and she continued to work with the Mother’s Union even after the death of her husband.

“In many ways, we have suffered great loss but we praise God for giving us 85 years with her and we appreciate that she is now at rest,” said Bishop Gandiya.

Mrs Murindagomo was one of the few surviving veterans of Mbare and her death comes as a great loss to the Mbare community.

Affectionately known as “Gogo Murindagomo” to many, she would be remembered most for her light-hearted personality and humane values.
She is survived by four children, 16 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
