A 28-year-old gold panner, who is also a mechanic, lost his client’s vehicle while he was away in Mazoe looking for gold.
Takudzwa Dombo of Braeside left his client’s white Toyota Harrier (ADM 3988) parked outside his house and went to Mazowe for gold panning.
Three unidentified men were spotted by his neighbours towing the vehicle.
He was handed custody of the car on July 22 after it developed a mechanical fault.
Takudzwa left the car parked outside his house and went to Mazowe Gold Mine, where he also works as a gold panner.
On August 14, Takudzwa returned home only to discover that the car was missing.
He made enquiries and was told that the car was towed away by three men.
Harare provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, confirmed the case.
“Police are investigating a theft of a car case in Braeside.
“Total value stolen is US$2900,” said Insp Chakanza.
