Aaron Dube in Johannesburg, South Africa
FORMER Zimbabwe AmaZulu defender Golding Dube is impressed with his South African Third Division side Blue Stars who have not lost a single game since he joined them in early January.“I’m excited with the results my boys are posting, they’re doing very well, it shows how passionate and prepared the team is.
“The first moment we started training I saw how determined the players were and I told them that they deserved to play in a bigger and better league but it all starts now and they are responding well to my tactics, believe me there’s great talent in the lower league,” said Dube.
He said they are training very hard to make sure they get maximum points when they play another Pretoria outfit Spartak at Caledonia Stadium, Pretoria on Saturday at 3PM.
“This is a tough side so we’ve to go there fully prepared but I believe in my players. We can beat them,” said Dube.
His team has beaten Faynben 4-0, Esterus 2-1, Inkangala 3-2, Culinan 2-1 and drew 1-1 with Callies in the third division league.
Dube is assisted by former Eagles striker Jeyi Sibanda who is the team’s assistant coach and goalkeepers’ trainer.
Sibanda said he had learned a lot from the former AmaZulu player.
Blue Stars have a good chance of getting promoted to the Vodacom League (Division Two) next season as they are sitting on fourth position on the 16-team table.
Dube had a stint in Swaziland where he coached Moneni Pirates, Manzini Sundowns and Red Lions.
