Mahachi said the tour is growing and believes the support they are getting from the stakeholders will continue to make the sport more exciting.
“I think things are going on well for the tour although we are still growing.
“We had a competitive event which was decided on the last hole and this made it more interesting.
“Several players have improved and it has become more challenging as we are having different winners in every outing. We have managed to host several tournaments which is good for the tour and the players. We expect the tour to improve but as of now there is stiff competition,” Mahachi said.
Muyambo, the Harare Open champion, believes it’s now time for him to reap the rewards of his hard work.
Muyambo, who is now eyeing the European Seniors Tour, said his confidence is growing with each outing.
The 52-year-old player pulled a surprise by overhauling Ryan Cairns who led in the first two days of competition.
Having won the Warren Hills Nyatimba Mutota event at Warren Hills three weeks ago, Muyambo expects more to come from him.
He believes it was high time he manages to place his name on the leaderboard after some hard work on the range.
“I had a feeling that I should make it, having made a recovery going into the 15th hole and that made me more confident,” Muyambo said.
“I just came into the game like any other player and played the game as it is and enjoyed every moment. It was very tough but I managed (to emerge triumphant) because winning the Mutota tournament gave me more confidence.
“I believe I can still make it among the young players who were competitive,” Muyambo said.
Muyambo pocketed US$4 500 for his efforts after going neck and neck with Cairns until the last hole.
Tongo Charamba, who had the putt of the day on the 18th green, had a chance to force a playoff if his last back nine form was anything to count on. The Chapman-based professional was in good form that saw him dominating the last second nine. 
Charamba eventually finished the tournament on second place, tied with defending champion Ignatious Mketekete and Cairns.
