South Africa based Zimbabwean musician Blessing Gomo is back in the country to launch his two albums tomorrow.
The two albums — “Mugodhi Netsime” which was done with a sungura flair while the other effort and “Delayed match” — is purely a gospel collection.
The launch will be held at East Point joint (formerly Jazz 105) in Harare.
His sungura album has 10 tracks comprising “Tinyerere”, “Tsaona”, “Chivandikira”, “Zano Ndoga”, “Marriage”, “Muroyi Ndimi”, “Todyiwa Mari” among others.
His gospel album also carries 10 tracks.
Artistes Mark Ngwazi, Romeo Gasa, Obert Chari, Senator Tichareva, Rowan Madzamba, Chipo Muchegwa, Terry Gee and Franco Slomo are set to grace the launch.
In an interview, with The Herald Arts, Gomo, who prefers the moniker Muroti, said.
“I am very happy to be back home in style ahead of the launch of my two albums.
“I really invested a lot in the double CD, which was produced by Gibson Makumbe of VOT Studios.
“Of course I double as a musical promoter in South Africa but I can’t resist recording new songs.
“I am looking forward to this launch,” he said.
He added: “I am really happy that I have been embraced by my fans on home soil and South Africa.
“However, I will always cherish this support because it means a lot to me.
“Home is always the best place to showcase your talent even though I have established myself in Port Elizabeth.
Gomo, who hails from Kadoma, hailed the business community for their support.
“On this launch, I am being backed by the likes of Cossy Rules, Spencer Chuma, Gideon Dhliwayo and our guest of honour Fanuel Musakanda who has been supportive to me over the years.
“This is the kind of backing we support in music and it has been enhanced by networking and remembering my roots,” he said.
A father of four, Gomo is also an engineer by profession. He doubles as a music promoter biased towards Zimbabwean artistes.
