The electorate should rally behind Zanu PF in the upcoming harmonised elections, on the back of sound policies and interventions being instituted by the Second Republic, Zanu PF has said.
Zanu PF National Spokesperson Ambassador Christopher Mutsvangwa on Monday took the ruling party’s election campaign to Chegutu.
Amb Mutsvangwa said pro-business policies being spearheaded by the ruling party’s First Secretary President Mnangagwa, were turning around the country’s fortunes.
“A slew of world class investors are flocking to the mineral endowed region. A world class metallurgy zone is surely and steadily taking shape. It involves the gold works of Giant and Pickstone Peerless Mine in Chegutu, the Cam and Motor and Chakari gold works,” he said.
“There are the Carbon Steel Ecosystem of the ferrochrome furnaces in Selous and the near complete Manhize Steel Project.
“There is also the mining expansion of the new PGM refinery by Zimplats in Ngezi and Selous.”
Amb Mutsvangwa, who hails from Chief Nyamweda in Mhondoro, outlined the various projects being overseen by the Second Republic to the electorate.
“They are triggering the new development enablers of road and rail logistics so as link the whole region to the port facilities and even new harbours in Mozambique. As well as to the huge South Africa subregional market.
“Soon the 80km hard tarred mining road from the Selous rail siding on to Ngezi Turf Town will be extended for 57 km to Manhize Steel Plant.
“Thereof it will connect to the Mvuma rail head.
“The Harare-Mubaira road will soon derive benefit from more PGM mining ventures by Bravura and Karo investors.
“Citrus fruit production will be spurred by the recently opened up huge Chinese market owing to a growing middle class of the Asian giant,” he said.
Amb Mutsvangwa welcomed the newly registered voters, who registered during the countrywide voter registration blitz. He exhorted them to vote for Zanu PF’s candidates saying it was the party of choice.
“That way their political district will benefit even more from the pro-development, people-centred and all embracing policies of President Mnangagwa and his progress disposed Zanu PF,” he said.
He promised his home voters that he would ensure that Chegutu Senatorial District benefits from his vast and diverse political engagement, as well as his diverse economic exposure at national, continental and international level.
The ruling party’s candidates pledged to entice more business to ensure Chegutu District can contribute even more to the national gross product.
