FORMER Greenfuel defender, Tatenda “Mashanana” Gora, says he is looking forward to adapting to life at Gaborone United in Botswana.

Gora, whose contract at Greenfuel expired at the end of last month, was one of the players who helped the team gain top-flight status at the end of 2022.

He also helped them survive relegation in their debut Premier Soccer League season last year.

Now, Gora is focusing on growing his career in Botswana and hopes to leave a mark.

“Being here is exciting for me as I was looking forward to such a move in my career. It is also a reflection of the work that I have put in the past and I am delighted with that,” said Gora.

“Now that I am here at Gaborone it means I have to continue working hard and prove the trust of everyone, who has made it possible for me to be here.

“I have to help the team fight and win silverware and make a long lasting impact in their football history books.’’

He added:

“The team is also playing in CAF tournaments and I need to help them, I will try to go beyond limits as I want to be one of the club’s best players.

“The move really means a lot to me and I am dedicating this to my beloved mom, who passed away recently (in November).

“It was her wish to see me playing football at the highest level.”

Gora said he is grateful to the Greenfuel executive and their fans for giving him a chance to showcase his talent at the highest level in the country.

“Greenfuel is home for me as they embraced me and gave me the chance at the highest level when I needed it the most.

“I really appreciate all they did for me as they shaped my career and I wish them a fruitful and blessed season.

“To the fans I say ‘Asante Sana’, stay motivated, I really appreciate you for the support you gave me and the rest of the team.”
