The former Miss Bulawayo who aspires to be a photographic model in Europe was the country’s ambassador.
In an interview with Chronicle Entertainment yesterday, the model said she was overwhelmed to be in the top five.
“I was overwhelmed as I managed to raise my country’s flag high. Not only did I market Zimbabwe to 54 other countries but also to the world as the show was broadcast live on the Internet,” she said.
The 21-year-old model who left the country three weeks ago was not present to officially hand over the crown to new Miss Bulawayo Bongani Dhlakama (23) who was crowned two weeks ago.
“I am happy for Bongani and I wish her the best in her tenure as the new queen,” said Gori.
She said she would be resuming her modelling career in a few months as she was working on other projects.
Speaking about her Malaysia trip, Gori said although she had a wonderful time in the Asian country she really missed home.
“Malaysia is a beautiful country with fantastic people and delicious food but I was really missing home and entering the New Year in a foreign country was something else,” she said.
It could have been a glorious moment for Gori to hand over the crown to her colleague, Dhlakama whom she has worked with at the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority.
Gori was crowned Miss Bulawayo 2011 in December 2010 before taking part in the Miss Tourism Zimbabwe beauty pageant where she clinched the Miss Talent 2011 title.
Before being crowned Miss Bulawayo Gori held two titles, First Princess Miss Teen Bulawayo and Second Princess Miss Teen Zimbabwe.
