GOSPEL musician and motivational speaker, Rebecca Manford, has released a single titled Tochimhanya, which celebrates women for their role in nation building.
Rebecca said women should be celebrated every day.
“To celebrate Women’s Month, I have just recorded this album. The song was recorded on the 8th of March by Zimbabwean producer Gangstamadeit,” she said.
Rebecca said she advocates for equal opportunities.
“As a woman, I have realised that we are not getting equal opportunities with men. Women should be treated equally with males when they are capable,” she said.
Besides the album, Rebecca has also launched a talk show called Coach Flow.
The show advocates for the empowerment of women living with disabilities.
She said women living with disabilities must not feel inferior to others since they can do plenty of things that able-bodied people do.
Florence Mudzingwa was the guest in the first show episode.
Mudzingwa was born with a disability, but that has not deterred her in any way.
Mudzingwa urged girl children living with disabilities to contribute to their personal and national development.
“On this show, I want to encourage girl children living with disabilities to focus on their lives and not to mind how society relates to them.
“That is what helped me to be who I am today,” said Mudzingwa.
“I only have a few people who have handled me with care since my childhood, and they are my sister and my mother.
“The time I spent alone was the time I realised who I was and focused on what I want to be. This helped me to read a lot and fortunately, I passed with flying colours.”
Mudzingwa is the founder of Hope Resurrect Trust (HRT), an organisation that seeks to instil and build confidence and self-esteem in the girl child living with disabilities.
She is also the author of a book titled “Love Life the Art of Living Your Dreams”.
