Gospel musician Itai Sandras put up an electric performance over the weekend at a family show held at Banket Country Club in Mashonaland West Province. It was a great event punctuated with a lot of praise and worship that saw 10 gospel groups, two from the town and others all the way from Harare, taking turns to thrill the audience. Running under the theme “Together in Christ”, the show gave the Banket dwellers a moment to be close to their creator.
Starting up two hours behind the scheduled time, the artistes were up to the tempo as they took people on a worship journey.
It was Sandra’s well-choreographed act that took fans into delirium.
Taking to the stage at around 4pm, Sandras, who was powered by his energetic group, “Peace Gospel Singers”, upped the game by delivering a fine tuned act and treated the audience to tracks like “Pazuva Guru”, “Korona” and “Mudziyo Wenyu”.
After that Trymore Bande, who was clad in maroon designer suit, gave his best when he took the audience into praise and worship.
Bande showed that he is a force to reckon with in gospel music circles.
He belted hit after hit much to the delight of the fans and they danced to tracks including “Uchandiramba Peter”, “Muimba YaMwari”, “Pharaoh” and sampled a track “Razaro” from his forthcoming album.
Despite the venue being a kilometre away from the town, Banket gospel lovers had a fun-filled weekend.
Other groups or musicians who gave their best include Mai Mangwiro, Edmore Zikimo and Wyet Zuze from Banket as well as Mashoko Gamanya, Elphas Kadhani, Mai Mutandirwa, Mai Dangarembizi Muchairi, Vafudzi Vevhangeri. Sandras, who was one of the show organisers, said it was a memorable event.
“We would like to thank the Lord for making his event a success and those musicians who performed today. I never thought that people would come out in numbers to support our initiative being our first time to hold such an event,” he said.
