Preparations are at advanced stage for the “Taking Gospel To Another level” concert set for this weekend at Kingstone House in Harare. At least four top gospel musicians have joined forces to come up with a gospel concert that is set to push the genre in Zimbabwe. The show will see Sebastian Magacha, Mathias Mhere, Takesure Zama and Thembalami serenading fans while all the musicians are looking forward to a great show.In an interview, Magacha said he was happy to be part of the show and will use the opportunity to sample songs from his next album.

“I have been in the studio since January and I am happy with what is coming out. We have already started rehearsing for the concept and it is a great honour sharing the stage with those in ministry,” he said.

Magacha said fans were in for a treat as he had surprises for them.

“I can’t say much about what is going to happen but I urge all the gospel lovers to come in and witness the experience of the four powered musicians,” he said.

Mhere, who recently released his new album “Double Double”, said the aim of the show was to spread God’s word and to take gospel music to another level.

“The concert is a way of giving the gospel music fraternity a facelift. It has been long since we had such an event of a gospel nature and we have come together as the singers to have something that many will remember for a long time.

“It will be a memorable day for all gospel music lovers with the four of us under one roof dishing out different voices but singing one gospel, that of Jesus Christ through music and dance.”

Mhere urged gospel lovers to come in their numbers and witness four ministers of the word under one roof, preaching the gospel through music and dance.

He said he would take the opportunity to market his new album.

“This is also an opportunity for all the followers of my music to have a feel of ‘Double Double’ live on stage with the saints of God,” he said.

Magacha, with a number of hoists under his belt such as “Bhosvo”, is well known for his energetic dances.

Zama, who is well known for his deep worship songs and collaborations with popular gospel musical choirs such as Joyous and Zim Praise, is set to give worship lovers a treat of a lifetime.

Thembalami is also a force to reckon with after being in the industry for some time now and releasing household tunes like “Hande”, “Tomurumbidza”, “Bayethe” and the recent “L.o.v.e” which has been well received on the gospel scene.
