Zim trio features in Indian film

Three Zimbabweans have featured on a Nigerian short film “Middleman” by London-based Ceeander Entertainment. The trio, Tatenda Jamera, Simba Tagz and Tatenda Kamera, were hired as directors of cinematography and music producers, respectively for the film.Shot in Abuja, Nigeria, “Middleman” is a short film that captures the untold story of a young and ambitious boy, Mustapha and seeks to address the issues of social insecurity and education in Nigeria.In an interview, Jamera said it was good to lift Zimbabwe’s flag high.

“I am thrilled to have been part of this production, along with Tagz and Kamera. Thank you to Cindy Maduenyi of Ceeander Entertainment and director Ronke Ogunmakin, we hope people love it.

“Zimbabwe has got talent and the demand of actors and producers outside the country tells a lot,” he said.

Jamera said he learnt a lot during his days in Abuja for day to day shooting, cinematography and editing of the film.

“I think we should just be firm and make use of our links as artistes to spread our wings,” he said.

For Tagz and Kamera the experience was amazing.

“It was an exciting project for us and we hope the film will be viewed around the world. It is always great when Zimbabwean talent is recognised across Africa, we hope to do more”

Jamera said it was good that Zimbabwe’s film industry was growing each day.

“You have to understand that we have talent in the country. It needs support from corporates, stakeholders and individuals for the industry to grow,” he said.

The trio join other stars like Arnold Tongayi Chirisa and Leroy Gopal who have made it on the international scene.
