GOSPEL outfit, Purple Pride Family, is celebrating 10 years in the game.
The group celebrated their milestone through a live DVD launch dubbed “Restoration” over the weekend.
Guest performers included Tembalami, Jonah Chivasa, Tinashe Magacha and Pastor G, among others.
Founder and director of the outfit, Albert Mtengwa, said they have travelled a journey, which needs a celebration with their fans.
“The DVD was Restoration Live and we were celebrating 10 years of existence.
“The project had 16 tracks, the vocals were arranged by Simbarashe Chinyanga and the music director is Tatenda Nyangani.
“It was an exclusive 100-guests red carpet event, which is something I envisioned the choir to be, so as to offer something different and of excellence to our guests, audience and fans all over,” he said.
Mtengwa said they have many other projects.
“This was the first of the yearly projects, with the same tag of being a Live DVD.
“This follows our hit Musandikanganwe, which featured Leonard Zhakata.
“We have had years of ministering to the less privileged through our yearly initiative called Christmas of Love and Worship whereby we took time to go to orphanages, old people’s homes to host Christmas parties and concerts for them.
“Also, we have been celebrating our ministry through worship at churches around Zimbabwe,” he added.
The singer said they were yet to visit different locations in which they will be spreading the message.
“We have also been celebrating our projects Canaan, Ndimi Zvose, Tinosimudzira, Jesu Ndiye Hama, Musandikanganwe, which made it to the international platform Trace Gospel.
“When it’s done in terms of mixing and mastering, we will be going city to city launching it (the product) since this was just the live recording of the product.”
Purple Pride Family was assembled in 2012, with the aim of nurturing aspiring musicians determined to change the lives of people and spreading God’s love through worship.
