THE case of a Bulawayo woman who stabbed her neighbour three times in a frenzied knife attack for allegedly calling her a habitual flirt, was yesterday further postponed as the medical report produced in court was full of inaccuracies. Evidence Nyathi was stabbed three times in the chest by Nomagugu Dube (22) of Cowdray Park suburb, a court heard.
Yesterday, Dube, who is charged with attempted murder, appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Mrs Gladmore Mushove and she was further remanded to 26 November. She is on $60 bail.
The magistrate heard how on 8 October Dube flew into a rage and confronted Nyathi, who had just returned from a football match at Cleremont Mine in Fort Rixon.
She accused Nyathi of “spreading rumours about her alleged sexual encounters with different men”, said Mr Tafadzwa Mutsambiwa, prosecuting.
The two women were soon locked in a heated argument, which degenerated into a fist-fight, the court was told.
Dube, fearing that she was being overpowered, allegedly pulled out a kitchen knife and stabbed Nyathi three times in the chest. She fled the scene, the court heard, leaving Nyathi lying helplessly in a pool of blood.
Passersby found the victim writhing in pain and took her to a local clinic.
