Government announces pre-planting producer prices for strategic commodities

THE Government has released the pre-planting producer prices for strategic commodities for the 2022/ 2023 summer season.

The pre-planting producer price for maize is US$335 per mega tonne.

“For soybeans, the pre-planting price was pegged atUS$597/MT, US$335/MT for traditional grains while sunflower will cost US$687,23/MT. Cotton on the other hand will cost US$0,4/ kg for grade D, US$0,41 for grade C, US$0,43 for Grade B and US$0,46 for grade A,” read a statement from the Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development.
