GOVERNMENT has launched an international campaign to attract foreign students to study in Zimbabwe.

Higher and Tertiary Education, Science and Technology Development Minister Professor Amon Murwira said the Study in Zimbabwe Campaign was already underway.

“As we revamp our programme infrastructure through the Qualifications framework, we believe that Zimbabwe is ready to engage internationally to increase the number of foreign students that study in our institutions therefore making the Higher and Tertiary education sector an export sector,” said Prof Murwira.

He said the campaign to be spearheaded by the Zimbabwe Council for Higher Education (Zimche) would also rope in the private sector and embassies.

“We are starting it right now and we are starting with flagship programmes led by Zimche and private companies. So we are going to be working with the private sector and our embassies to promote a Study in Zimbabwe campaign programme which follows the infrastructure revamping strategy that we are doing. So this is our vision for the Higher and Tertiary education,” said Prof Murwira. — @AuxiliaK
