Government’s rural infrastructure development initiatives near completion

THE Government’s commitment to inclusive development reaches rural areas as significant progress is made in the completion of various infrastructure projects, according to the Minister of Information, Publicity, and Broadcasting Services, Dr Jenfan Muswere.

During the Post Cabinet Press Briefing, Dr Muswere announced that the cabinet received a comprehensive report from the Minister of State for Presidential Affairs in the Office of the President and Cabinet, Lovemore Matuke, highlighting the advancements made in the implementation of the Rural Infrastructure Development Agency (RIDA) Third 100-Day Cycle Priority Projects for 2023.

One of the notable projects under RIDA is the Gunguhwe Bridge in Gokwe North District, which is close to completion. Additionally, the Somgolo Bridge in Lupane District and the Nzoumvunda Bridge in Muzarabani District have reached 90 percent completion.

Furthermore, the rehabilitation of the Halisupi pipe drift in Gwanda is progressing impressively, with a completion rate of 96 percent.

The Government’s dedication to rural infrastructure development aims to ensure that no one and no place is left behind in the nation’s progress.
