Government, through the Ministry of Health and Child Care and cooperating partners, has rolled out a health and nutrition care group training at Tongogara Refugee Camp in Chipinge, which uses peer support to promote recommended health and nutrition behaviours.

In a statement, the ministry said the programme is being carried out in partnership with World Food Programme and international charity organisation Terre des Hommes.

“This is in line with President Mnangagwa’s mantra of leaving no one and no place behind. The Care Group approach is a community-based strategy for promoting behaviour change while prioritising vulnerable and marginalised populations. It comprises 10 to 15 volunteers who use peer support and positive influence to promote recommended health and nutrition behaviours,” said the ministry.
