GOVERNMENT, through the Grain Marketing Board (GMB), has warned against the selling of agriculture inputs under the Presidential Inputs Programme, saying perpetrators face arrest and prosecution.
In a statement on Wednesday, GMB said it is illegal to buy or sell agriculture inputs that will have been designated for the Presidential Inputs Programme.
“The Grain Marketing Board wishes to remind members of the public that in terms of Statutory Instrument 247 of 2018, it is unlawful to sell or purchase inputs that are being distributed to farmers under the Presidential Inputs Programme or any contract scheme or from any unauthorised dealer.
“It has come to our attention that some unscrupulous traders are receiving stolen inputs.
“This is illegal and detrimental to both the buyer and seller.”
