Govt to announce seed cotton price

would not be associated with companies undermining farmers.

“Cabinet has taken a clear position that it will not be part and parcel of a situation where farmers are undermined.

“Cabinet clearly stands on defence of the farmer and companies cannot continue to underpay farmers,” he said.
The cotton industry is experiencing challenges as growers want high prices for their crop while buyers are offering a low price of US$0,30 cents per kilogramme.
