Brussels say an announcement can be made as early as the 23rd of this month. Ambassador Bimha said the GPA was an internal arrangement that had nothing to do with the EU. He said the inclusive Government was established seven years after the imposition of the illegal sanctions.
“GPA is an arrangement between political parties in Zimbabwe. The EU has no reason to supervise the GPA since it is not a signatory to that agreement,” he said.

Ambassador Bimha was upbeat that the EU would come up with a decision that respects the will of Zimbabweans. He said all parties in the inclusive Government had spoken against the embargoes.

“There is no justification for the continuation of sanctions because all parties have condemned them,” he said.
The sanctions have received worldwide condemnation from all progressive forces.

The African Union, Sadc and the Non Aligned Movement called for their removal.
