A 71-year old man claimed in court that his 14-year- old niece asked him to deflower her to prove she was now a woman.
The old man who is now facing rape charges even bragged about molesting the juvenile saying she in fact seduced him.“She called me to her room Your Worship and when I got in, she opened her legs and invited me to deflower her to proof she was now a woman,” the man told a stunned court.
The man pleaded guilty to rape before regional magistrate Colet Ncube.
Allegations against Daniel Sibanda are that on October 12, 2013 around 9.10PM he entered the complainant’s bedroom purporting to be looking for his pair of trousers.
He then took the pair of trousers and used it to tie the complainaint’s neck. The accused then used the complainant’ skirt to tie her hands after which he raped her once.
Complainant reported the rape to her aunt who only cautioned the accused, the court heard.
The complainant not happy with her aunt’s reaction, reported the rape to her headmistress who called in Childline officers leading to the arrest of the accused.
Ncube remanded the accused in custody to Thursday for continuation of trial. Trust Muduma appeared for the State.
