Granny (85) wins protection order

AN 85-year-old granny had a good weekend after being granted a peace order against her abusive 24-year-old granddaughter.

Magistrate Tamara Chibindi was convinced by Gogo Teresa Chibika’s submission that her granddaughter, Olivia Ndlovu, has been subjecting her to physical and verbal abuse.

She told the court that she wanted her granddaughter to be evicted from her house.

“She is my granddaughter, but she acts like a monster. She is very violent.

“She insults and assaults me, forgetting that I am her grandmother.

“It’s painful because she has a daughter that I and her mother take care of.

“Since I reported the matter Olivia is nowhere to be found. I don’t want her in my house anymore,” Gogo Teresa said.

Olivia was in default to defend herself.

Magistrate Chibindi ordered Olivia not to physically or verbally abuse her grandmother.

She also ruled that Olivia must not go anywhere near Gogo Teresa’s house.
