GRAYHAM have been fined US$8 000 by the ZIFA Eastern Region League for failing to provide adequate security in their game against Green Fuel two weeks ago.
Green Fuel were awarded all three points for the match, which was abandoned, due to bad light.
In a letter to Grayham, ZIFA Eastern Region secretary, Farai Rutsvara, said the fine of US$5 000 was imposed for their failure to provide adequate security.
This led to the late kick-off, and subsequent abandonment, of the match.
The club failed to exercise control over spectators leading to chaos and violence.
“A fine of US$2 000 is imposed on the chairman, Gray Hama, for unsportsmanship conduct by a club official before, during and after the match, as he denied entry to the visiting team at the prescribed time of 1.30pm and 2pm, for players’ warm-up knowing well that it was an offence.
“A fine of US$1 000 is imposed on committee member, Bernard Mawoyo, for unsportsmanship conduct as he violently pushed, shoved and assaulted Green Fuel team manager, and an accredited reporter, despite him knowing well that they were on official duty,” said Rutsvara.
