Greedy woman gets ultimatum

Gutu Civil Court has given a 24-year old woman who claimed maintenance from two men three months to prove the real father of her daughter through a paternity test. The magistrate, Mr Nyasha Vitorini, on Friday said it was wrong for Nyevero Muzivi of Garikai Houses at Mpandawana Growth Point to claim maintenance for the upkeep of her four-year-old daughter from two men.

This was after Mr Vitorini discovered that Muzivi wanted to claim maintenance from a Ruwa-based security guard, Joshua Nyagato, despite having been granted US$100 monthly maintenance by the same court in April 2012 with Reason Mutete of Harare admitting to being the father.

Mutete has been paying US$100 for the upkeep of the child since 2012.
