Guava war spills to court

SHARING is caring.

But that’s not the case for a woman from New Magwegwe who decided to drag her neighbours to the courts following their habit of taking guavas from her tree without her approval.

Sharon Sophronia Singo made it clear that she does not want Gift Nkala and Nkwazi to take fruits from her trees as it pisses her off.

“These two are disturbing my peace as they come to my house and steal guavas and mangoes. When they jump into the yard, they destroy my fence. Can they be stopped?

“At times, they come and start playing soccer near my gate, kicking the ball into the yard. They once vowed to make my life difficult and now they always steal my fruits,” said Singo.

The stressed woman pleaded with the magistrate to grant the protection order as the behaviour of the two young men was taking away her peace. She revealed that locking the gates had proven to be useless as whenever they needed guavas, they jumped over the fence. When the presiding magistrate Urgent Vundla asked Nkala and Nkwazi to respond to the allegations, they had different statements.

“I agree with the allegations,” said Nkwazi. On the other hand Nkala disputed the claims saying: “It is not correct that we jump the fence, we use that route only when going to the shops.”

The order was granted in favour of the applicant and the two were ordered to keep peace and not enter Singo’s premises.
