Gumbo eyes next stage

Gumbo was speaking during lunch following a workout with his team.
FC Platinum avoided travelling back to Zvishavane following their 3-1 victory over Black Mambas and camped at one of the hotels in the capital.
Gumbo has openly said that he is not worried by the threat caused by the Sudanese who have Ivorian, Nigerian and Zambian players in their team which boasts Sudan national team players.

“I have watched them play and I am not worried about their national team players as my squad also has players who play in the national team.”
FC Platinum leave the country today for Sudan to fight for the cause of Zimbabwe football.
They engage El Merreikh who on paper look like they have a psychological advantage following a 2-2 draw with the miners at Rufaro Stadium on 24 March.

The Sudanese outfit emerged out of Rufaro Stadium with two vital away goals.
Hard tackling defender Norman Togara who announced his comeback with a league goal on Saturday against Black Mambas is out of the team.
The former Dynamos and Gunners defender won the hearts of many when he managed to shut out the menacing Omar Musab in the first leg of their first round encounter.

He earned himself a red card with just two minutes to full time but was however saluted by the FC Platinum fans on his way to the dressing rooms.
Captain Zephaniah Ngodzo, the gifted leftback Qadr Amin  together with Daniel Vheremu and Gilbert Banda, have a job to do as they have to make sure the deadly Zambian                forward and Sudanese Golden Boot winner Jonas Saruwaya and Sudanese international Sayyid Mustapha are kept under lock and            key.

Former Blue Ribbon anchorman Cabby Kamhapa, Allen Gahadzika, Ali Sadiki and Joel Ngodzo will do battle in midfield with the  hosts’ midfielders Mike Matyoba and Raji Abdel-Aati’s.
FC Platinum showed character when they came twice from behind  to salvage a draw and they now need to bury El Merreikh in Omdurman on Saturday.

With the lethal Charles Sibanda and Mitchell Katsvairo upfront getting clean balls from Rowan Nenzou, one of the best midfielders in the Premiership, it does not look so much of a tall order to emerge victorious in the war-torn country.
