Gunners want Robin van Persie back

LONDON. — Arsenal are believed to be working on a deal to bring former captain Robin van Persie back to the club at the end of the season.
Van Persie, who is reportedly fed up with life at Manchester United, has privately told friends and family that he will consider leaving Old Trafford in the summer.

And now reports in Holland suggest a sensational return to Arsenal is on the cards, with Arsene Wenger open to the idea of bringing back the striker.

It’s already been claimed that Wenger has met with the Dutchman’s agents to gauge whether he would want to return to north London — and the Arsenal manager has now put the idea to the club’s board, with financial details being worked out.

Arsenal expect that Van Persie would be available for much less than the £24million he was sold to United for, while he may also accept a pay cut on his current £200 000 salary if a fee could be agreed.

Wenger is on the lookout for another world class striker in the summer, and refused to rule out the possibility of re-signing Van Persie was asked recently. — Metro.
