GURUVE Pirates are set to go on a countrywide talent exposure tour.
The Guruve-based community club has four age-group teams – the Under-12, Under-14, Under-17 and Under-20.
They are set to play the Zimbabwe Open University in Harare tomorrow before travelling to Bulawayo for games against How Mine at the weekend and Bulawayo Chiefs’ developmental side in mid-week.
Guruve Pirates head coach, Rickymore Marodza, said the club was still new and seeking corporate support to fulfil the dreams of their young players.
Marodza played for Njube Sundowns and Zimbabwe Saints in the Premier Soccer League.
He also had a stint with Division One side, New West City and FC Santos of Botswana.
“Our team is rural-based and we have a number of kids with a lot of passion for the game. “We want to give the boys exposure.
“A lot of them have big dreams of playing in big leagues across the globe.
“Our major target is to develop the talent we have. “We are scheduled to travel with our senior team, which consists of Under-20s.
“The team has players as young as 14.”
He added:
“We are a newly registered club, with the SRC, and we look forward to registering with ZIFA, to play in Division Two,” he said.
“Our major plight is lack of corporate support.
“We are calling on all those that can help us in any form to chip in to help the boys.”
