Guruve suspected serial killer Anymore Zvitsva has been remanded in custody to February 3, 2026 on five fresh charges of murder and attempted murder.

He is facing two new murder charges and three new attempted murder charges. He was advised to apply for bail at the High Court.

Zvitsva (33), who is linked to the deaths of 18 people in Guruve, initially appeared in court on January 5, where he was charged with eight counts of murder, two counts of attempted murder, and two counts of rape.

He arrived at the Harare Magistrates’ Court on Monday for the new murder and attempted murder charges in legs irons and was helped into the court complex by a fellow prison inmate who carried him. He is nursing a leg wound after security forces shot him while he tried to evade arrest on January 3 this year.

Zvitsva’s alleged crimes left the Guruve community in fear, as authorities worked tirelessly to arrest him.
