Gushungo denies copycat tag

UP-AND-COMING Afro fusion artist, Tatenda “Gushungo” Gomwe, said he is not a copycat of Jah Prayzah or Andy Muridzo.

However, Gushungo said he feels honoured when music fans compare him with artists like Jah Prayzah and Muridzo.

Gushungo emphasised that he derives inspiration from Jah Prayzah, and believes he’ll be the next superstar.

Speaking to H-Metro, Gushungo, said he is not a copycat.

“Gushungo is a different brand, yes we share the same beat, but different voices, for example zimdancehall ine vanhu vakawanda but different voices.

“There are just fans who like comparing us. We share the same type of music with Jah Prayzah and Andy Muridzo although l got the inspiration from JP,” he said.

To date, Gushungo has two albums titled Ndidane with 10 tracks and Sango Rinoera which carries eight tracks.
