ZIM dancehall star, Guspy Warrior, will this Friday pay tribute to his hometown, Chitungwiza, when he hosts a big bash to celebrate his 33rd birthday at the Aquatic Complex.
Dubbed “Good Friday Music Explosion-Guspy Warrior Birthday Bash”, the event will feature an array of artists, emcees and deejays.
These include Dhadza D, Kinnah, Shinsoman, Blot, Etherton Beenie, Merciless, Bounty Lisa, King Shaddy, Templeman and Lady Squanda.
Born and raised in Zengeza 5, the “31 October” singer said he owes Chitungwiza a lot and that is why he is celebrating his birthday there.
“I owe that town (Chitungwiza) a lot for making me the person and the artist I am today.
“It humbles me to just think of the overwhelming support I get from my home town so I am bringing them top artists to entertain them on my behalf.
“My music journey has been a success over the years and I want to thank my fans who have been standing firmly with me through the good and the bad times.
“I am glad that my music has relieved a lot of stress and has helped shape up our young future generation.”
Guspy Warrior promised a good show.
“My birthday celebration is basically a professional and quality production concert.
“Mafia 19 stands for quality over quantity and it’s a celebration not a clash. We are coming to enjoy the good times and to thank God for the blessing of life.
“Turning a year older for me means more room for versatile artists like me.
“I love to explore and this new generation has brought a different vibe and am in love with it.
“This is a great opportunity to expand my territory and market share, “ he said.
In his 16-year music career so far, Guspy Warrior has released and produced a number of hit songs, among them Seunononga, Bus Di Shot with Winky D, Timone, 31 October, Joze, No way and Kongodzvoda.
