LEGENDAY South African musician, Freddy Gwala, has wished Zimbabwe a happy 44th birthday.
He said he still wants to collaborate with young artists from Zimbabwe and across the continent.
“Hello, thank you very much Zimbabweans, this is Freddy Gwala.
“I would like to wish you a happy 2024.
“And, let me tell you something, Platform One is still alive, Platform One is still gonna record, Platform One is gonna be produced by Freddy Gwala and I now have got young blood at Platform One.”
He added:
“Listen, I do not mind working with young Zimbabwean artists, I do not have any problem with collaborating with anyone.
“So, yes, your Freddy Gwala is still alive and kicking and I will be there in Zimbabwe very soon.”
Gwala’s manager, Lucky Malackean Moyo, said:
“Yes, Freddy Gwala, the hitmaker of Amadamara, is still ready to collaborate with all artists across Africa, mostly the younger ones.
“He is not just a musician but the brains behind other musical groups.
“Freddy Gwala has also introduced a sound called Afro-pop, which is now popular in South Africa.
“His career has taken him worldwide and he has performed in many countries.”
Kireni Zulu said he was excited about the prospects of collaborating with Gwala.
