Gweru man wins Benz at Baker’s Inn draw

A GWERU resident, Mr Tinotenda Mlauzi has won a sleek Mercedes-Benz C Class at the Baker’s Inn “Buy and Win Promotion” Midlands provincial draw held in Gokwe yesterday.

Mlauzi, who was not present at the draw, was informed by Star FM presenters after they called him informing him of the development. The promotion in Midlands covered Gokwe, Shurugwi, Zvishavane, Gweru, Chirumhanzu, Kwekwe and Mberengwa.

In an interview over the phone after winning the grand prize Mlauzi, of Nehosho high-density suburb in Gweru was ecstatic.

“I am very happy that I won the Baker’s Inn ‘Buy and Win Promotion’ Midlands provincial promotion. I was looking forward to it because when I entered the draw I was expecting to win a car and my dream came true today,” he said.

Other winners from different parts of Midlands walked away with refrigerators, solar geysers, television sets, stoves and gas cylinders, school fees vouchers and consolation prizes of loaves of bread, caps and t-shirts.

The Baker’s Inn “Buy and Win Promotion” ran from October to December last year.

Baker’s Inn executive marketing director Mr Caleb Musodza said the organisation had spent over $1 million on the promotion and draw this year up from $300 000 spent on the same competitions in 2016.

“The successes of the 2017 edition of the Baker’s Inn Buy and Win Promotion is clear testimony of the tremendous growth this promotion brand has experienced since inception two years ago. The current edition is the 3rd edition of the promotion. Key milestones are that the vehicle grand prize has improved from Honda Fit, to WV Polo and now Mercedes Benz, the budget of the promotion has grown from $300 000 to over $1m.

“Over 11 000 winners in the promotion at its various stages (roadshows, grand draws), which is more than double the last edition. We estimate that over 20 000 people have had a huge positive change in their lives, courtesy the Baker’s Inn Buy and Win Promotion brand. Highlights include house workers, vendors and students winning the grand prize of the vehicle and seeing their lives transform instantly. The mood and excitement of the crowds at our draws always summaries the success of this promotion,” he said.
