Gweru Mayor Councillor Martin Chivhoko has commended nurses for their tireless efforts, dedication and commitment to delivering quality health care.
In his World Nurses Day commemoration remarks at the civic centre, Cllr Chivhoko said nurses are the backbone of the healthcare system since they provide critical care, support and comfort to patients and their families.
“Whether working in hospitals, clinics or community settings, nurses are the first point of contact for patients and play a pivotal role in delivering quality healthcare.
“We recognise their hard work, dedication and passion for providing care that is not only effective but also compassionate and patient-centred,” he said.
“Nurses work tirelessly to ensure that patients receive the best possible care, often in challenging circumstances.
“As we celebrate World Nurses Day, let us take a moment to appreciate the many ways in which nurses contribute to our community’s health and well-being.
“From providing critical care in emergencies to supporting patients with chronic conditions, nurses are essential to our healthcare system,” he said.
Cllr Chivhoko said the celebrations should inspire the continued support and empowerment of nurses in their vital work.
“Let us work together to create an environment that allows nurses to thrive and provide the best possible care to our citizens,” he said.
