Gyan racially abused

LONDON. — Al Ain’s Ghanaian striker Asamoah Gyan has accused Al Hilal midfielder Mihai Pintilii of racially abusing him during an Asian Champions League semi-final second leg on Tuesday. Gyan’s Al Ain FC, from Abu Dhabi, lost 4-2 on aggregate to Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal, despite winning the game 2-1. During the match, Gyan was red carded after a two-footed tackle on Salem al-Dawsari. The Al Hilal player’s team-mate, Romanian Pintilii, rushed over to confront Gyan and a shoving match between the two teams ensued.
The Black Stars captain said in an article on his own website, asamoahgyan3.com, that Pintilii had racially abused him during the confrontation.

“The player has no right to tell me what he did,” Gyan said.
“He said something to me which made me upset. He said an abusive word — I really didn’t like it.”

“He knows what he said, you can ask him. He knows what he said.”— AFP.
