WITH a single round of matches remaining before the curtain comes down on the Turkish Süper Lig, Zimbabwe international, Teenage Hadebe (above), remains optimistic about his team’s chances of surviving relegation.
Despite being named in the Turkish Süper Lig Team of the Week, Hadebe is not focusing on individual recognition and is instead determined to help his team maintain its Süper Lig status.
“It’s always good to get such kind of recognition for your performance and I am happy to have been named in the team of the week,” said Hades.
His side Konyaspor sits on 15th place with 41 points and Hadebe is hoping to carry on his good form to the last match of the season against Galatasaray.
“At the moment, I am concentrating on my game and helping the team survive relegation and I am hoping that I carry on with my form to our last match of the season.”
Both teams need a point to achieve their goals, with Konyaspor needing a point to survive relegation, and a point giving Galatasaray the title of 2023-24 Turkish Süper Lig.
Hadebe admits that the game on Sunday will not be an easy one for his team, but they are ready for the challenge and aim to end the season on a high note.
“We would want to end our season on a high note and for us to do so, we need to at least get a point against Galatasaray to survive.
“We are ready for Galatasaray and we know it won’t be an easy game for us because they need a point also to win the championship,” said Hadebe.
