Hair Stylists Awards preps on course

The competition, being organised by Patrick Madanga of Hair Facts, is the first of its kind in Bulawayo.

In an interview recently, Madanga said the venue costs $400 and the prizes for winners had been secured.

He said the show had already created a buzz in town.

“I have been called by different people who are interested in the show. The only drawback is that finding sponsors for the venue is a problem. The venue costs $400 and if we secure it by the end of the week then we can go on an advertising campaign,” said Patrick. He said registration was in progress and the deadline might be extended to accommodate other people who would want to enter.

“The winner of the competition will walk away with the tag of being the best hairstylist in the city and his or her salon will also ride from their win. It is an opportunity for hairstylists to show their immense talent,” said Madanga.

The awards are themed “A presentation of the respective skills of local stylist” and aim to create a good standardised quality hair dressing base in Bulawayo.

There are three hairdressing fields, namely Men’s Hair Stylists Award (Best Fades), Dreadlock/Natural Hair Stylists Award and Hair Stylists Awards.
