Pastor Haisa – who released “Dzidziso” and his DVD collection last year – has been quietly working on perfecting his art ahead of his first live show this year.
Despite the negative publicity that has been dogging his career over the years, Pastor Haisa remains one of Zimbabwe’s most talented gospel musicians with a string of hit albums to his name.
These include “Taurai Mwari”, “Moyo Wakanaka”, “Burukai Mwari”, “Fuku Rangu”, “Buwe Rangu”, “Chivi Chinoura-yisa” and “Nhaka Yedu” among others.
Phaphani, on the other hand, is one of the hottest artistes of the moment across the Limpopo who possesses irresistible voice and sings soul-touching music.
Some of the diva’s songs include “Nguwe”, “Kungenxa kaJesu” and “Baba Wethu” that are featured on compilation album titled “Stay Alert” that was recorded in Zimbabwe in collaboration with some local gospel musicians.
Phaphani is already in the country for the family show that will see the live recording of a DVD album and collaboration with Haisa on a new song for peace titled “We Need Peace”.
Show organiser, Benjamin Ganyiwa of Rhythm Africa Promotion said the show that will also feature upcoming gospel group High Glen Praise Choir – was aimed at changing the face of gospel music in Zimbabwe.
“We need to change the face of gospel music in Zimbabwe. We feel fans of sungura can also become gospel lovers.
Ganyiwa said the festival was also meant to spread the gospel of unity and peace among Zimbabweans.
“Haisa will sing alongside Phaphani to show that we need to unite as Africans,” said Ganyiwa.
Ticket bookings are available from Glad Tidings churches in Budiriro, High Glen, Highfield and Glen View.
