AS they continue with efforts to have more road races on the local scene, Mr Pace Athletics Club has partnered with GoFit to hold a half-marathon on November 6 in Chitungwiza.
The Mr Pace Chitungwiza, GoFit half-marathon is going to be the main event of the day.
There is also a 5km fun run and an aerobics session.
Mr Pace club chairperson Collen Makaza said: “This year we have partnered with GoFit. They specialise in aerobics, so we are combining the two.
“We are expecting a low turnout because of the Covid-19 restrictions. We are basing on the clearance we have from the Sports Commission.
“We have got our clearance to hold the event. We are looking forward to a tough competition. Athletes are starting to come back after a long break because of Covid-19. So we are expecting tough competition for the 21km race.
“It’s a flat course, so it’s a fast course and we are looking forward to good times from the athletes. We hope they go for their personal best times because the course is fast.”
This will be the second event the club has organised after a track and field event held at the National Sports Stadium in May.
Registration for the event opened last week and closes on Thursday.
